fhios Accessibility specialist recognized for her work...

Sigrun Thorsteinsdottir, a Senior Accessibility Consultant at fhios has recently been accepted as a member of the Guild of Accessible Web Designer (GAWDS).

GAWDS is a world-wide association of organisations and accessible web designers and developers - designed to both promote and protect standards - not technical standards - but accessible design standards. Membership is not automatic; all membership applications are assessed by a current Guild administrator and criteria such as demonstration for good practice on existing site, published and written articles and more have to be met. The exclusive list members include gurus such as Jim Byrne, Jim Thatcher (author of Accessible Web Sites).

Sigrun has been a leading light in terms of accessibility at fhios working on projects with clients such as nPower, London Stock Exchange, Corporation of London. Upon receiving this recognition Sigrun said:

“Being acknowledged for your work is great. This is a great honor and will assist me in my role as an accessibility specialist at fhios.”
